The Thar Desert, also known as the Great Indian Desert, is a vast, arid region sprawling across northwestern India, primarily covering the state of Rajasthan, and extending into neighboring Pakistan. The climate of the Thar Desert is defined by extreme temperature fluctuations and severe water scarcity. Conversely, winter nights can see temperatures plummet to near freezing, illustrating a dramatic diurnal temperature variation.
