RANGER SAM: Welcome to Carlsbad Caverns! My name is Ranger Sam.
RANGER ROSA: And I am Ranger Rosa. We are happy you are here today!
ABIGAIL: Hi! My name is Abigail. I want to learn about the bats!
RANGER SAM: You came to the right place. Thousands of bats live inside this big cave.
ABIGAIL: Wow! When do the bats come out?
RANGER ROSA: They fly out at sunset. They go into the sky to hunt for bugs to eat.
ABIGAIL: Do they fly in a straight line?
RANGER SAM: No, they do not! They fly up in a big circle. It looks like a swirling ring of smoke!
ABIGAIL: That sounds cool! How do they fly so well?
RANGER ROSA: Their wings are flexible like human hands. They can turn very fast in the air.
ABIGAIL: Where do the bats go when it gets cold?
RANGER SAM: They fly south to warmer places for the winter. This long trip is called migration.
RANGER ROSA: When spring comes, they fly all the way back to this cave.
ABIGAIL: Bats are amazing flyers! Thank you for sharing!
RANGER SAM: You are welcome, Abigail! Enjoy your visit to the park!
