The Shiny Spinning Toy

Mia sat on the big red rug. She held her small computer tablet.
The screen was very bright. Her game had loud music and fast cars.
Gran walked into the cozy room. She held a dusty wooden box.
"Look at this, Mia," Gran said. She opened the box with a smile.
Inside was a shiny metal toy. It was a spinning top.
It had red and blue stripes. It did not have a screen.
"How do you play?" Mia asked. She looked for a start button.
Gran laughed softly. "You just push this top part down," Gran said.
Mia pushed the metal top. The toy began to spin very fast.
It made a soft humming sound. The colors mixed together like a rainbow.
Mia watched the top spin on the rug. It did not need a battery.
It did not need to be plugged in. It was real and it was fun.
"I like this," Mia said. She spun the top again and again.
She put her tablet away. This old toy was magic.
