The Visitor from the Stars

Barnaby was a young Triceratops who loved exploring the warm, prehistoric jungle. While the other members of his herd rested near the river, Barnaby trotted toward the edge of the valley in search of his favorite snack: crunchy fern leaves. The ancient forest was filled with the sound of buzzing dragonflies and the towering canopy of tall pine trees.

Suddenly, a strange hum vibrated through the air. A silver object shaped like a smooth river pebble descended gently from the clouds. It settled softly into a clearing, floating just inches above the muddy ground. Barnaby ducked behind a thick tree trunk, his broad collar shield trembling with excitement and curiosity.

A tiny hatch on top of the floating pebble popped open. Out stepped a small, glowing green creature no taller than a dragonfly's wingspan. The creature wore a round glass helmet and held a shiny silver device. This was Pip, a curious space explorer who had traveled millions of miles across the galaxy to map new planets.

Pip clicked a button on the device, and a soft yellow light projected into the air, displaying a bouncing holographic map of the stars. Barnaby stepped out from behind the tree, letting out a low, friendly rumble. Pip gasped in surprise, looking up at the majestic four-legged dinosaur towering above him.

Instead of running away, Pip adjusted his device. A rainbow pattern of lights flashed softly from the gadget. Barnaby understood that the tiny visitor was trying to say hello. Wanting to be a good host, Barnaby carefully nudged a big pile of fresh green ferns toward the little astronaut with his snout.

Pip smiled behind his helmet and scanned the ferns. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a small, sparkling purple sphere that floated like a bubble. Pip gently pushed it toward Barnaby. When the dinosaur gave it a small lick, it tasted like sweet starlight and honey berries.

For the rest of the afternoon, the giant dinosaur and the tiny alien shared their snacks under the ancient trees. When the sun began to set, Pip climbed back into his silver ship. As the saucer zoomed upward into the darkening sky, Pip flashed a friendly green light down toward the valley. Barnaby let out a loud, joyful roar, knowing he had made a friend from the stars.
