Language is the set of words we use to speak and listen. There are thousands of different languages in our big world. People speak English, Spanish, Mandarin, and many more. Words help us share our thoughts and feelings. When a baby learns to talk, they learn the words of their family. These words help people connect like a warm hug. Talking to our friends helps us feel happy and safe.
