Underground Wonders at Mammoth Cave
NARRATOR: Mia stands at the dark cave entry. She holds a bright light.
RANGER DAN: Welcome to Mammoth Cave! It is very big down here.
MIA: Wow, it is cool and dark! Are we under the ground?
NARRATOR: Ranger Dan smiles and nods his head. They step inside the giant cave.
RANGER DAN: Yes, we are deep underground. Look up at the stone ceiling!
MIA: I see long rocks hanging down. How did they get there?
RANGER DAN: Water drops made them over a long time. They are called stalactites.
NARRATOR: Mia looks down at the floor. She points to a rock reaching up.
MIA: Look! This rock grows from the ground! What is this one called?
RANGER DAN: That is a stalagmite. It points up to the top.
MIA: Caves are full of fun surprises! I love exploring underground.
NARRATOR: They walk along the path together. The big cave holds many wonderous sights.
