Penny and Pip Find the Mud

Penny was a very big pink pig. She lived on a happy farm.

Penny had a small piglet named Pip. Pip had a cute curly tail.

The sun was bright and hot in the sky. Penny looked at the dry dirt.

"It is too hot to play here," Penny said. Pip nodded his head.

"I want to find some cool mud," said Pip. He liked to splash.

Penny and Pip walked out of the barn. They saw the tall green corn.

The farm was very big and wide. They walked past the old stone wall.

A brown dog ran by them. The dog went woof woof at the pigs.

Pip gave a tiny oink. He was excited to find a puddle.

They saw a duck near a small pond. The pond had blue water.

"Can we play in the pond?" asked Pip. Penny shook her head.

"The pond is for ducks to swim," she said. "Pigs like mud."

They walked to the back of the farm. The ground felt soft and wet.

Pip saw something dark on the ground. It was a very big mud hole.

"Look, Mama! I found the mud!" Pip yelled. He was so glad.

Pip ran fast to the edge. He took a big leap into the air.

Splash! The mud went up and down. Pip was covered in brown spots.

Penny laughed a happy pig laugh. She stepped into the mud too.

The mud felt cool on their skin. It was soft like a wet rug.

They rolled around and around. They were messy but very happy.

A little bird flew over the pigs. The bird sang a sweet song.

Penny and Pip stayed in the mud. It was the best spot on the farm.

The sun started to go down. The sky turned pink and orange.

It was time to go back to the barn. They were tired and dirty.

"That was a fun day," Pip said. He went to sleep in the hay.

Penny kissed her piglet goodnight. They loved their life on the farm.
