The Secret Flower

Deep in a quiet woods, there was a tiny garden. In the middle grew a very strange flower.

The flower was always closed tight. It looked like a small, gray ball.

A girl named Lily lived nearby. She wanted to see the flower open.

She tried to water the flower every day. She tried to sing sweet songs to it.

But the flower stayed shut. It stayed gray and quiet in the dirt.

One day, Lily saw her brother, Sam. Sam was sad because he lost his favorite toy.

Lily gave Sam her own toy to play with. She gave him a big, warm hug, too.

Suddenly, a bright light came from the garden. Lily ran to see the gray flower.

One small petal was now bright pink. The flower had opened just a little bit.

Lily told Sam about the magic flower. They wanted to see it bloom all the way.

Sam helped an old lady carry her bags. He held the door open for her with a smile.

The flower opened its petals even more. Now it was bright yellow and very pretty.

The children knew the big secret. The flower only opened for kind hearts.

They shared their snacks with their friends. They said "please" and "thank you" to everyone.

The flower grew big and tall. It turned into a beautiful rainbow flower.

Everyone came to see the magic plant. It made the whole town happy and glad.

Being kind was the best way to make things grow. It was the best secret of all.
