A Basket for Quiet Games

I think our classroom needs a small quiet game basket.

This basket would be for times when the teacher says we may use it.

Sometimes, students finish their math pages early.

Reading a book is a wonderful choice.

Other times, our brains want to try a different quiet activity.

A small basket could hold soft foam blocks.

It could also hold picture matching cards.

A student could sit on the rug and match shapes without making noise.

These games do not have buzzers, bells, or loud pieces.

They help us practice patience and calm thinking.

Some people might worry that games will make the room too loud.

That is a fair worry, because games can be exciting.

However, we can keep the basket small and follow our classroom rules.

We would only touch the basket when our teacher gives permission.

A quiet game basket would be a helpful addition to our room.
