A Persuasive Pitch for a Pet

Dear Mom,
I am writing this letter because I would like to talk to you about something very important to me. I have been thinking about it for a long time, and I believe our family is finally ready to adopt a dog. I know that having a pet is a big commitment, but I have several reasons why I think it would be a great idea for us. I have researched different breeds and believe we can find the perfect match for our home.
First, having a dog would help me become more responsible. For the past month, I have been making my bed every morning and finishing my homework before dinner without you having to remind me once. I have even started helping more with the dishes after school to show you I can handle extra tasks. If we got a dog, I would be the one in charge of feeding it every morning and evening. I have already looked up how much food a small dog needs, and I am prepared to keep a strict schedule.
Secondly, a dog would encourage our whole family to be more active. Instead of sitting on the couch after school, I would take the dog for a long walk around the neighborhood. This would be great exercise for me and the dog while getting us some fresh air. Plus, having a dog provides companionship for everyone. When you are busy working in the home office, I would have a furry friend to keep me company while I read or play quietly.
I understand that you might be worried about the mess or the cost of a pet. I have a plan for that because I have saved fifty dollars from my birthday money to help pay for the initial supplies like a leash and a water bowl. I also promise to be the one to clean up any messes in the yard immediately so you do not have to worry about it. I will even brush the dog every day to make sure there isn't too much hair on the carpets or furniture.
Mom, I am truly ready for this big challenge and I want to show you I can do it. I promise to work hard every day to make sure our new pet is happy, healthy, and well-behaved. I believe a dog would bring so much joy and laughter to our home every single day. Thank you for taking the time to read my letter and for considering my request.
