Camp Willow Wood Diary

July 10th

Dearest Diary,

Today was my first day at Camp Willow Wood, and wow, it's a whirlwind! Mom and Dad dropped me off this morning. I felt a little nervous as they drove away. It's the first time I've ever been away from them for so long.

After they left, a really nice counselor named Sarah showed me to my cabin. I'm sharing with three other girls: Emily, Chloe, and Maya. They all seem super friendly! We spent the morning unpacking and getting to know each other. Emily has a ton of funny jokes, Chloe loves to draw, and Maya is amazing at braiding hair.

This afternoon, we had swimming in the lake. The water was cold at first, but it felt great once I got used to it. I even tried the diving board! I was scared, but I did it! Later, we played a giant game of capture the flag in the woods. Our team lost, but it was still so much fun running around and hiding behind trees.

At dinner, we ate sloppy joes and corn on the cob. The food here is pretty good! After dinner, we had a campfire. We sang songs, told stories, and roasted marshmallows. My marshmallow caught on fire, but it still tasted good!

I miss Mom and Dad, but I'm also having an amazing time. Camp Willow Wood is definitely an adventure. I can't wait to see what tomorrow brings!

Goodnight, Lily

Dearest Diary,

Another awesome day at Camp Willow Wood! This morning, we had arts and crafts. I made a friendship bracelet for Emily. She loved it! Chloe taught me how to draw a really cool cartoon character. I think I'm getting better at drawing!

After lunch, we went on a nature hike. Our counselor, Sarah, taught us about different types of trees and plants. I even saw a deer! It was so cool. I wrote down all the new things I learned in my nature journal.

This afternoon, we had canoeing on the lake. It was a little wobbly at first, but I got the hang of it. Maya and I paddled all the way to the other side of the lake. We saw a family of ducks swimming by. After canoeing, we played volleyball. I'm not very good at volleyball, but I still had fun.

Tonight, we're having a talent show. Emily is going to tell jokes, Chloe is going to show her drawings, and Maya is going to sing a song. I don't know what I'm going to do yet! Maybe I'll tell a story. Or maybe I'll just cheer everyone else on. Either way, I know it will be a blast.

Camp Willow Wood is even better than I imagined. I'm making new friends, trying new things, and having so much fun. I'm so glad I came here!

Goodnight, Lily
