Doofus the Dino

Doofus was a Pachycephalosaurus, a dinosaur known for its incredibly thick, dome-shaped skull. His skull was so thick, it was like he was always wearing a helmet made of solid bone. The only problem? Doofus wasn't very good at judging distances.

A Series of Bumps

Every morning, Doofus would wake up and immediately bump his head on the low-hanging branches of his favorite tree. "Oof!" he'd grunt, rubbing his head. Then, he'd try to walk through the forest, but he'd constantly misjudge the width of the trees. BAM! He'd crash into a tree trunk. "Excuse me," he'd mumble to the bewildered tree.

The other dinosaurs started giving him a wide berth. A group of Parasaurolophus giggled as Doofus stumbled into a mud puddle. A grumpy Stegosaurus shook his head as Doofus ricocheted off a rock formation.

Doofus felt terrible. He didn't mean to be clumsy. He just couldn't seem to control his hard head. One day, while sulking near a tall, fruit-laden tree, he saw a group of baby Triceratops staring longingly at the fruit. The fruit was just out of their reach.

A Dome with a Purpose

An idea sparked in Doofus's mind. He backed up, took a deep breath, and charged at the tree trunk. WHAM! His dome-shaped head connected with the tree with a satisfying thud. A shower of ripe fruit rained down on the delighted baby Triceratops.

Doofus, a little dizzy but pleased, watched as the babies feasted. The mother Triceratops nodded her head in gratitude. Soon, other dinosaurs gathered, pointing to the high-hanging fruit. Doofus realized his head wasn't just for bumping into things. It could be helpful!

From that day on, Doofus became the official fruit-knocker-downer of the forest. He'd carefully aim his head and give the trees a good thwack, bringing down food for everyone. He was still a bit clumsy, and still bumped into things occasionally, but now he was also appreciated. Doofus finally found a purpose for his hard head, and he couldn't have been happier.
