Dear Principal Martinez,

I am writing to you on behalf of our fifth-grade class to share an idea about how our school handles technology. Every morning, our classrooms buzz with the glow of tablet screens and laptop monitors. We use computers to research science projects, practice math facts, and collaborate on group presentations. There is no doubt that new technology gives us incredible tools for learning. However, many students and teachers have also noticed real drawbacks when we spend too much time staring at screens. Because technology brings both powerful benefits and serious challenges, our school should create a "Tech Balance Policy" that teaches students how to use digital devices with moderation.

First, consider the undeniable advantages that technology offers our school. In the past, research meant flipping through outdated encyclopedias in the library. Today, a student can explore digital archives, view high-resolution photographs from the surface of Mars, or chat through video with a marine biologist across the globe. Digital learning programs also allow each classmate to learn at their own pace, helping students who need extra practice while challenging others with advanced activities. Furthermore, assistive technology empowers students with reading difficulties or visual impairments to participate fully in class discussions. When used thoughtfully, digital tools make our classrooms more accessible and exciting.

disrupts:
Interrupts or disturbs a normal process, event, or routine.
posture:
The position in which someone holds their body while standing or sitting.
