Attention All Fourth-Grade Students, Teachers, and Families:

Due to the steady morning rainfall and the soggy conditions on the grass fields, Maplewood Elementary is officially switching to our indoor backup plan for Sports Day today, Friday, May 17. The rain will not dampen our spirits! We still have a full day of energetic teamwork and friendly competition ready for you.

Please read this announcement carefully so you know exactly where to go, what will change, and what will remain the same.

What Stays the Same

First, our overall schedule has not changed. Sports Day will still begin promptly at 9:00 AM and wrap up at 2:15 PM before regular afternoon dismissal. You will still compete with your assigned homeroom color teams (Blue Jays, Red Foxes, Green Frogs, and Gold Bears), and your teachers will keep track of team points throughout the day.

Second, lunch and snack routines will operate as usual. If you brought a packed lunch from home, keep it in your classroom cubby until lunchtime. If you ordered a cafeteria meal, lunch will be served in the cafeteria at 12:00 PM, exactly as originally planned. Remember to keep your refillable water bottles with you at all times, as water refill stations will be available in both hallways.
