In the year 1999, the World Cup came to the U.S. This was a huge football tournament.

Many people came to watch the games. They wanted to see Mia play.

Mia and her team played in the final game. The stadium was filled with loud fans.

The game was very hard and exciting. Mia and her friends won the big gold cup.

The whole country cheered for them. Mia showed everyone how to be a champion.

She became a hero to many children. Today, girls and boys still want to play like Mia.
