Mr. Miller stood in front of the big school. It was his first day at Pine Tree School. The sun was bright and warm. He had a bag full of books and pens. His heart beat a little fast. He was excited but also a bit nervous. This was his very first classroom.

He walked into Room Five. The walls were painted a soft blue color. There were small desks in neat rows. A big rug sat in the corner for story time. Mr. Miller put his name on the board in large letters. He wanted the room to feel like a happy home. He hoped the students would like him.

Soon, the school bell rang with a loud sound. Children started to walk into the room. A boy named Leo stood by the door. Leo looked a little shy and held his backpack tight. Mr. Miller gave him a big, kind smile. "Hello, Leo," Mr. Miller said softly. "I am so glad you are here today."

The whole class sat down on the blue rug. Mr. Miller told them about his favorite things. He liked to bake cookies and play soccer. Then, the students shared their favorite things, too. One girl liked to paint big trees. A boy liked to read books about space. Everyone laughed when Mr. Miller told a funny joke.

They spent the morning making bright name tags. They used glitter, glue, and many colorful markers. Mr. Miller helped Leo find the yellow marker. Leo started to smile and talk to his new friends. The room was filled with the sound of happy voices. The morning went by very quickly.

At lunch, the other teachers said hello. They were very nice and helpful to Mr. Miller. He felt much better about being at a new school. He knew that he was part of a great team. It was going to be a wonderful year for everyone. He could not wait to see what they would learn next.

At the end of the day, Leo waved goodbye. "See you tomorrow, Mr. Miller!" Leo called out with a grin. Mr. Miller waved back as the bus drove away. He packed his bag and turned off the lights. He was not nervous anymore. He was just very happy to be a teacher.
