Dear Diary,

Today I am on a big river. It is the Nile River.

We are on a wooden boat. It is called a felucca.

The boat has a large white sail. The wind pushes us along.

The water is blue and calm. I can see the green trees on the shore.

A big white bird flies by. It is an egret.

It dips its beak into the water to catch a fish.

I see a small boat next to us. A man is fishing.

He waves at me and smiles. I wave back.

The sun is warm on my face. The water makes a soft splashing sound.

I love our boat trip on the Nile.

Goodnight, Diary!
