My Mom the Mummy

Leo: Look at Mom! She is wrapped up tight.
Mom: Good morning, Leo. Do you like my warm wrap?
Leo: You are wrapped in white cloth. Are you a real mummy?
Mom: (giggles) I am not an old mummy.
Mom: I am just cold today. This is my soft white blanket.
Leo: But look at your face! It is white and still.
Leo: Mummies have white wraps. They sleep in big stone boxes!
Mom: This is a cream mask on my skin. It helps my face feel clean.
Leo: You walk very slow. Your arms stick straight out!
Mom: My hands hold warm tea. I must walk slow so I do not spill.
Leo: A mummy walks like that, too! Can you do a mummy groan?
Mom: Mummies do not groan, silly goose. They take long naps.
Leo: Will you chase me down the hall? Show me your mummy walk!
Mom: (wiggles fingers) Here comes the blanket mummy!
Leo: Oh no, run away! The mummy wants a hug!
Mom: The mummy catches you! You get a big, warm squeeze.
Leo: Your blanket is very soft. You are the best mummy ever.
Mom: Thank you, Leo. Now let us make breakfast.
Leo: Can a mummy eat pancakes? I want three tall pancakes!
Mom: This mummy loves warm pancakes. Let us go make them together!
