Welcome to the Room 204 Seed Library! Our classroom seed collection helps fifth graders learn how plants develop from tiny embryos into hardy, food-producing vegetation. Just like checking out a library book, you can borrow seeds to cultivate at home or in our school garden beds. However, because seeds are living things rather than printed pages, checking them out works a bit differently. Please read these instructions carefully before opening the card catalog.

Step 1: Browsing and Selecting Seeds

The wooden card catalog near the science counter contains organized seed packets labeled by plant family, such as legumes, leafy greens, and root vegetables. Browse through the drawers to find a plant that matches your growing space, sunlight availability, and level of experience.
