Today, experts use compatible, lime-based mortars and non-invasive scanning technologies, such as 3D laser mapping, to monitor structural changes without touching the fragile surface. These modern preservation efforts represent a delicate balance between halting natural decay and respecting the integrity of the original ancient craftsmanship, ensuring that the Great Sphinx will continue to watch over the Giza Plateau for generations to come.
