The Safe Streets of Garrett Morgan

Garrett Morgan was a very smart man. He loved to make new things.
He lived a long time ago. He saw that the streets were busy.
Cars and horses had to share the road. People had to walk there too.
It was not safe. Many cars would bump into each other.
Garrett wanted to help. He wanted to keep everyone safe.
So, Garrett made a new sign. It was a tall traffic signal.
It had three different lights. One light said go.
One light said stop. One light said to go slow.
This slow light was new. It gave cars time to stop safely.
Now, the streets were safe. Cars did not bump anymore.
Garrett was a great helper. His big idea still helps us today.
