Leo and the Iowa Farm

Leo loved to visit his grandpa on his farm in Iowa. The farm had big green fields and a tall red barn.

Every morning, Leo walked outside to look for animals. He liked to see what wild creatures lived on the land.

One sunny day, Leo saw a brown deer near the trees. The deer had big brown eyes and soft white spots. It ate fresh green grass in the quiet meadow. Leo stood very still so he would not scare the gentle deer.

Then, a tiny brown rabbit hopped out of the tall bushes. It wiggled its small pink nose in the air. The rabbit sat near a bright red cardinal bird. The red bird sang a sweet song from a wooden fence post.

"Look at all my animal friends!" Leo whispered with a big smile. Iowa was full of wonderful animals.

Leo walked back to the barn to tell his grandpa what he saw. Grandpa smiled and gave Leo a big hug. "Iowa is a special home for many animals," Grandpa said.

Leo helped Grandpa feed the farm animals next. The chickens made soft clucking sounds in the yard. The pigs splashed in the cool mud to stay cool.

Leo had a great day exploring the land. He could not wait to see what animals he would find tomorrow.
