Pip and the Night Sound

Pip was a little brown bear. He lived in a warm cave with his mom.

One night, the sun went down. The cave grew very dark and quiet.

Suddenly, Pip heard a loud sound. It went tap-tap-tap on the wall.

Pip pulled his blue blanket up to his nose. His heart went fast. He felt very scared.

"Mom," Pip whispered. "There is a monster outside!"

Mom Bear came over to his bed. She sat down and gave him a big, warm hug.

"It is okay to feel scared, Pip," Mom said. "Let us look at the sound together."

Mom shined a bright yellow light. She pointed it at the cave door.

They saw a long branch from an oak tree. The wind was blowing the branch.

The branch tapped on the rock wall. Tap, tap, tap went the tree.

"There is no monster," Pip said. He let out a big breath.

"The tree was just saying hello," Mom smiled. She tucked the blue blanket around him.

Pip felt safe and warm now. He closed his eyes and fell fast asleep.
