Little Bats on Halloween Night

Halloween is a fun night for many children. Kids wear fun costumes and walk outside.

They go trick-or-treating in their neighborhoods. Some trick-or-treaters walk past parks and caves.

Bats live inside dark, cozy caves. A little brown bat stays safe in his cave during the day.

He rests by hanging upside down with his bat family. Caves are good homes for tiny bats.

When night comes on Halloween, the little bat wakes up. He spreads his wings and flies into the cool air.

He sees kids dressed like scary ghosts, silly clowns, and bright pumpkins. The trick-or-treaters make happy noises outside.

At first, the little bat feels shy. But he sees that the visitors are just having fun.

The little bat learns that he can share the space near his cave. He flies high in the sky and catches tiny bugs.

Bats are good neighbors to have. They eat pests like mosquitoes that bite people.

Bats do not want to scare trick-or-treaters. They just want to fly and hunt for food.

Trick-or-treaters can be good neighbors to bats, too. People can keep caves quiet so bats can rest.

On Halloween night, everyone can share the outdoors together.
