Pip and the Hidden Treasure

Pip stood on the warm, yellow sand. He wore a big black hat with a white skull.

His bird, Blue, sat on his shoulder. Blue was a bright blue parrot with yellow wings.

Pip held a crinkly old map in his hands. The map had a big red X near the sea.

"We must find the gold," Pip said to his bird. Blue chirped a very happy song.

They walked past the tall green palm trees. The sun was hot and bright in the sky.

They saw a small blue crab on the beach. The crab waved its claws at them.

Pip followed the path on his map. He walked over a small hill of sand.

He saw a big gray rock shaped like a star. It looked just like the picture on the map.

"This is the spot," Pip said with a smile. Blue landed on top of the big rock.

Pip took out a small brown shovel. He started to dig deep into the soft sand.

The sand flew up into the warm air. Pip worked very hard for a long time.

Then he heard a loud clink in the hole. His shovel hit something very hard.

Pip used his hands to move the last bit of dirt. He saw a heavy wooden box with gold bands.

The box was locked very tight. Pip found a small silver key in his pocket.

He put the key in the lock and turned it. Click! The lid of the box popped open.

Inside was a pile of shiny gold coins. There was also a red gem that sparkled in the sun.

"We did it, Blue!" Pip shouted out loud. Blue flapped his wings and flew in a circle.

Pip put the gold coins into his bag. He put the red gem in his pocket.

They went back to their big pirate ship. The ship sat in the blue water.

Pip and Blue were very happy and tired. They had a fun day on Pirate Island.
