Sam and the Secret Treasure

Sam and his dog Pip went to the beach. The sun was very bright in the blue sky.

The sand felt warm on Sam's bare feet. Pip ran fast to the edge of the blue water.

The dog started to dig a deep hole in the sand. He found a piece of old, brown paper.

"What is that, Pip?" Sam asked with a smile. He took the paper and looked at it closely.

It was a real pirate map with messy lines. There was a big red X near a tall palm tree.

"We must find the treasure!" Sam said to Pip. Pip barked and wagged his short tail.

They walked past a large, gray rock. They saw a small crab crawl into a hole.

Sam looked at the map once again. He pointed his finger at the tall palm tree.

"The X is right here under this tree," he said. Sam used his small blue shovel to dig down.

He dug and dug for a long time. Soon, he heard a loud noise in the sand.

The shovel hit a box made of dark wood. Sam pulled the heavy box out of the hole.

The box was locked with a rusty gold lock. Sam found a small key on the sand nearby.

He turned the key and the lid popped open. Inside the box were many shiny gold coins.

There was a silver ring and a big green gem. Pip sniffed the treasure and barked happily.

"We are rich pirates now!" Sam shouted. He put the gold coins in his deep pockets.

The sun began to go down in the sky. It was time for Sam and Pip to go home.

They walked back with their big discovery. It was the best day they ever had at the beach.
