Lucius lived in a town with big stone walls. Today, he went to the hot baths with his dad.

The baths were in a grand stone house. Steam rose up from the warm water.

First, Lucius and his dad played with a big ball. They ran and jumped on the grass to get warm.

Next, they went into a hot room. The floor was very warm under his feet.

A man put sweet oil on Lucius's skin. Then he scraped the dirt off with a curved tool.

They jumped into the big pool of blue water. Lucius splashed and laughed with his friends.

Men sat nearby and talked about their day. The baths were a fun place to meet and get clean.

Lucius felt clean and happy. He loved his day at the great Roman baths.
