Mia and Ben had a free day. They met at the park with a ball and a bag of snacks.

“Let’s play volleyball,” Mia said. They hit the ball back and forth over a low net.

Then Ben saw a path by the trees. “Can we go cycling?” he asked.

They put on their helmets and rode their bikes down the path. At the end, they saw a pond and stopped for a snack.

On the way back, a dark cloud filled the sky. Soon, big drops of rain fell on the path.

“Oh, no!” said Ben. “I wanted to go skating, too.”

“We can skate on a dry day,” said Mia. “Let’s go to my house.”

At Mia’s house, the two friends spread a puzzle on the floor. They found the edge pieces first. Then they put the bright red pieces in the middle.

“What is it?” Ben asked.

“I think it’s a kite,” said Mia.

When they set the last piece in place, they saw a red kite in a blue sky. They cheered.

Next, Mia brought out a board game. Ben picked a green piece, and Mia picked a yellow one.

Ben rolled the dice and moved ahead. Mia landed on a spot that sent her back two steps.
