Have you ever wanted to see your drawings jump, run, or blast across a screen? Turn your flat sketches into moving stories during our after-school workshop, Paper Stop-Motion Creators! This three-session program is open to all fifth-grade students who want to explore the basics of animation using simple craft materials and school technology.

Stop-motion is a classic filmmaking technique where still objects are moved in tiny amounts and captured one frame at a time. When the pictures are played back quickly, the characters appear to move on their own. During this beginner-friendly club, you will invent your own original paper characters, cut them out, and design miniature cardboard backdrops. Then, working in teams of two or three, you will use a school tablet equipped with an animation app to record your short scene.
