Coordinating the Eco-Crafters and Garden Squad Joint Project

Subject: Planning Meeting: Eco-Crafters & Green Thumb Garden Squad Joint Project!
To: ecocrafters-club@maplewoodschool.org, greenthumb-club@maplewoodschool.org From: maya.lin@maplewoodschool.org Date: October 14, 2024
Dear Members of the Eco-Crafters and the Green Thumb Garden Squad,
I hope your week is off to a great start! As we discussed briefly after Friday's assembly, our two clubs have an amazing opportunity to combine our talents this fall. Mrs. Gable gave us permission to build a vertical herb wall and decorative planter boxes for the school courtyard. By working together, the Eco-Crafters can transform recycled materials into durable planters, and the Green Thumb Garden Squad can select the best soil, seeds, and seedlings to ensure our courtyard garden thrives.
To make sure our project runs smoothly and finishes before the first frost, we need to hold an official coordination meeting. Here are the meeting details:
- Date: Thursday, October 17
- Time: 3:15 PM – 4:00 PM (starts immediately after dismissal)
- Location: Room 204 (Science Lab)
We have a lot to cover in forty-five minutes, so please review our planned agenda before arriving:
- durable:
- Able to last a long time without breaking or wearing out.
- coordination:
- The process of organizing people or groups so they work together smoothly.
- drainage:
- The system or way that water flows out of an area or plant pot.
- cold-hardy:
- Able to survive cold weather and freezing temperatures without dying.
- trowel:
- A small hand tool with a curved blade used for digging in gardens.
- minutes:
- The official written record of what was discussed and decided at a meeting.
