Gus Learns to Hide

Gus Learns to Hide
Gus was a little ghost. He lived in an old house with dusty floors and creaky doors. Gus loved playing hide-and-seek, but he had a problem. Gus couldn't hide very well.
When Gus closed his eyes and counted, his friends would giggle. They could see his white sheet peeking out from behind the curtains. Or his ghostly feet would stick out from under the table. Gus sighed. "I'm no good at hiding," he whispered.
One day, a new ghost named Luna moved into the house. Luna was very good at hiding. She could disappear into shadows and float behind paintings without being seen. Gus watched her with wide eyes.
"How do you do it?" Gus asked. Luna smiled. "It's not just about closing your eyes," she said. "It's about looking for the best hiding spots. Spots that match you."
Gus thought about this. He looked around the room. The walls were a dark blue. He saw a pile of old white sheets. He looked at Luna and smiled. He went over and sat by the sheets.
Next time they played hide-and-seek, Gus ran to the pile of sheets. He sat still. When Luna called, "Ready or not, here I come!" she couldn't find Gus. Gus giggled. He had finally learned to hide.
Gus and Luna played all afternoon. They found the best hiding spots. Even behind the old box on the table.
