How to Build a Mini Pumpkin Patch
Fall is a wonderful time of year. You can make your own mini pumpkin patch inside a shallow tray!
It is simple and fun to build. Follow these easy steps to make your patch.
Things You Need
- A shallow tray or wooden box
- Clean potting soil or brown shredded paper
- Dry yellow straw or fall leaves
- Three to five mini pumpkins
- Green yarn or paper vine cutouts
- A small toy scarecrow or tiny wooden sign
Step 1: Prepare the Base
Set your tray on a flat table. Make sure the tray is clean and completely dry.
Step 2: Add the Soil
Pour a scoop of soil or brown paper into the tray. Pat it down gently with your hands to make the ground flat.
Step 3: Spread the Straw
Scatter a handful of yellow straw over the dirt. This makes a soft bed for the pumpkins. It looks just like the ground on a real farm.
Step 4: Arrange the Pumpkins
Wipe each mini pumpkin with a soft towel. Set the pumpkins on the straw. Spread them out so they do not bump into each other. Point their stems up toward the sky.
