How to Make a Glowing Mummy Jar
You can turn an old glass jar into a glowing mummy! This fun project is easy and safe to make at home or school.
Things You Need
- One clean glass jar
- A roll of white gauze bandage
- Glue stick or clear tape
- Two big plastic wiggle eyes
- One small battery tea light
Step 1: Wrap the Jar
Start at the bottom of the glass jar. Add a small dab of glue to hold the cloth in place.
Wrap the white gauze around the jar. Wind it up and around, from bottom to top.
It is okay if the gauze overlaps. Leave a few tiny open spots so the light can shine through!
Step 2: Stick the End
Cut the gauze when you reach the top rim. Use a drop of glue or tape to stick the end down flat.
Press gently with your fingers. Make sure the wrap stays in place.
Step 3: Add the Eyes
Pick two funny wiggle eyes. Add glue to the back of each eye.
Stick the eyes onto the gauze near the top of the jar. Tuck them slightly under a strip of gauze to look like a real mummy!
