Make a Paper Plate Scarecrow
Fall is here! You can make a friendly scarecrow for your room.
This fun craft uses simple items you have at school or home.
Things You Need:
- 1 white paper plate
- Brown and orange paper
- Yellow yarn
- A black marker
- A glue stick
- Child scissors
Steps to Follow:
Step 1: Cut the hat. Use your scissors to cut a hat shape out of the brown paper.
Make sure the hat is wide enough to fit on top of your plate.
Step 2: Add the hair. Cut six short pieces of yellow yarn.
Glue three pieces of yarn to each side of the plate rim for straw hair.
Step 3: Glue the hat. Put glue along the top edge of your plate.
Press the brown paper hat down firmly over the yarn.
Step 4: Make the nose. Cut a small triangle out of the orange paper.
Glue the orange triangle in the middle of the plate to make the nose.
Step 5: Draw the face. Use your black marker to draw two round eyes above the nose.
Draw a wide, curved smile below the nose with short stitch marks across the line.
Step 6: Let it dry. Let the glue dry for ten minutes.
Now your happy scarecrow is ready to hang on the wall!
