OAK CREEK SCHOOL — Rain changed big plans on Friday morning.

Room 1B had a reading picnic inside their own classroom.

The first-grade class planned to read outside on the grass at noon.

Then dark clouds rolled in and rain began to fall.

Mrs. Green helped the class move everything into Room 1B.

The students spread red blankets across the clean floor.

They ate sandwiches and crunchy carrots on the blankets.

Then each child opened a favorite book to read quietly.

"The indoor picnic was warm and cozy," said student Leo.

"I loved hearing the soft rain on the window," added Mia.

The fun indoor picnic ended on time at one o'clock.
