OAK ELEMENTARY NEWS
By Mia Hall

On Friday morning, Room 102 showed off a big project.
The first-grade class opened a new story wall.

The wall is in the main hallway.
It has colorful picture stories made by all eighteen students.

At nine o'clock, the class gathered by the door.
Mr. Lee cut a red paper ribbon.

The children clapped and cheered.
Then they showed their work to family and friends.

Each student drew three pictures to tell a tale.
Some stories were about playful pets.

Other stories showed trips to the park.
Every page had simple words at the bottom.

"I drew my brown puppy in the mud," said Sam, a student in the class.
"It took a long time to color."

Another student, Rosa, showed a tale about a red bird.
She used bright paper scraps for the wings.

"The children worked hard all week," said Mr. Lee.
"They learned how to tell stories with art."

The story wall will stay up until next Friday.
Other classes can visit during afternoon recess.
