Jordan: Thanks, Maya! While millions of domestic turkeys are raised on farms each year, wild turkeys are fascinating, powerful creatures. Unlike farm-raised birds, wild turkeys can run up to twenty-five miles per hour and fly short distances at fifty miles per hour! They also roost high in trees at night to stay safe from predators.
Leo: Wait, wild turkeys sleep in trees? That certainly changes how I picture them!
Jordan: Absolutely, Leo! Benjamin Franklin even admired the wild turkey for its sharp senses and bravery. Now, let's toss it over to Leo, who is tracking one of our most colorful modern traditions.
