ROLES (6):

  • HEADMASTER SHANNON: The wise, dignified leader of Strawgoh Academy
  • HOLDEN: Eighteen-year-old graduating senior and Captain of the Lions
  • DRAKE: Seventeen-year-old high-energy aerial racer and Holden's loyal best friend
  • SAM: Sixteen-year-old analytical researcher and master strategist
  • ZACH: Fifteen-year-old aerial defense specialist known for his unshakable calm
  • LIRA: Fourteen-year-old fiercely determined tactical flyer

SCENE 1: The Great Hall of Strawgoh Academy

(The grand hall is illuminated by floating embers. Outside the high arched windows, COLLIN, a massive red dragon with eight sweeping horns and six sharp dorsal spikes, rests peacefully on the parapet. HOLDEN and DRAKE step forward to the dais, dusty from travel but standing tall.)

HEADMASTER SHANNON: (Beaming with pride, extending both hands) Welcome back to Strawgoh Academy, Champions. The storm clouds that gathered across the western seas have vanished. Am I correct in assuming your mission was a success?

HOLDEN: It is done, Headmaster. The legendary lightning bolt has been restored to the summit skies where it belongs. The rift between the sea and the sky is healed.

DRAKE: (Grinning broadly, brushing soot off his sleeve) It wasn't easy! We tracked the thief across the open ocean. When we finally cornered Jax in the sea caverns, he threw everything he had at us.

SAM: (Consulting a glowing parchment) Jax was always one step ahead in ancient history classes when he attended Strawgoh, but his arrogance blinded him. He truly believed he could wield the sky's raw power against the tides.

HOLDEN: With guidance from the ocean depths and the thunderous call of the heavens, we dismantled his wards. Jax surrendered the relic before any lasting damage could fracture the realm. The ancient guardians have restored balance to the mortal world.

HEADMASTER SHANNON: Jax chose a dark, treacherous path when he abandoned this academy. But you two chose duty, loyalty, and restraint. For that, every soul in our enchanted halls owes you an immense debt of gratitude.

ZACH: (Smiling steadily) Not to mention, you made it back just in time. The broomsticks were polished, the pitch was ready, and the stands were packed for the championship.

LIRA: (Punching her palm enthusiastically) We told the other houses that Holden and Drake would return before the final buzzer, and you didn't let us down! We took the sky together!

SCENE 2: The Victory Celebration

(The school erupts into cheers. SAM steps forward carrying two massive trophies: an ornate silver cup carved with soaring wings, and an enormous golden chalice gleaming with ruby crests.)

SAM: Following yesterday's decisive aerial match, the official tallies are recorded. With Holden securing the golden sphere in the final seconds, the Lions have secured their eighth consecutive Hiddique Cup!

DRAKE: Eight in a row! I still cannot believe that dive you pulled off over the goalposts, Holden. The wind nearly tore your goggles clean off your face!

ZACH: My defense bludgeons kept the perimeter clear, but Holden’s dive was pure instinct. No other flyer in the academy could have threaded that needle between the towers.

HEADMASTER SHANNON: (Rapping her staff gently on the stone floor, producing a harmonious chime) And because of your combined academic excellence, tactical bravery on your quest, and your unmatched prowess on the Hiddique pitch, the Lions have officially claimed Strawgoh's one-hundred-and-third House Cup!

(The characters applaud and cheer as HOLDEN receives the awards, though his expression turns gently reflective.)

LIRA: Look at the courtyard banners! Red and gold everywhere. Holden, you've led this house to legendary status since you were a first-year student.

HOLDEN: Thank you, Lira. But no seeker flies alone. Drake gave us the points. Zach held the defensive line. Sam decoded every opposing playbook, and you brought the tactical fire we needed to close every gap.

SCENE 3: The Farewell to the Skies

(The festive noise softens as HEADMASTER SHANNON steps beside HOLDEN. Outside, COLLIN the dragon lifts his grand, eight-horned head and lets out a soft, warm puff of ruby-colored flame into the dusk sky.)

HEADMASTER SHANNON: Every journey has its horizon, Holden. Today marks the conclusion of your seventh and final year beneath the banners of Strawgoh. You arrived as an ambitious boy with an untamed red hatchling, and you leave as a protector of the realm.

HOLDEN: (Looking out the arched window toward Collin) Seven years ago, Collin only came up to my knee. We learned to fly together over these very mountains. Leaving Strawgoh feels like stepping off solid ground into an endless storm.

DRAKE: (Placing a reassuring hand on Holden’s shoulder) Hey, you won't be flying into the unknown alone. Collin is ready for the open world, and so are you. Besides, you taught me everything I know about the Hiddique pitch. I'll make sure the Lions defend that title next year.

SAM: The archives will record your name among the greatest captains in Strawgoh history, Holden. Your legacy is etched directly into the academy's stone foundation.

ZACH: And your pet dragon practically rebuilt half the north tower with his tail over the years, so you’ve definitely left an unmistakable mark!

LIRA: (Saluting with a smile) You set the standard for every young flyer who will ever pick up a racing broom in this valley. We will carry that discipline forward.

HEADMASTER SHANNON: Holden of the Lions, by virtue of courage proven in battle and honor demonstrated in victory, Strawgoh Academy bids you farewell. Step forward, take wing, and let your future soar higher than any spire we have built.

HOLDEN: (Taking a deep, resolute breath and turning toward the open balcony) To the skies of Strawgoh, and to the greatest crew a captain could ever fly with—thank you. Collin, let's show them one last victory lap!

(HOLDEN leaps onto the balcony railing and vaults smoothly onto the broad, crimson back of COLLIN. With a mighty beat of six-spiked wings, the dragon ascends into the twilight, circling the grand towers as the entire academy roars in celebration.)
