CHARACTERS:
(The scene opens on a bustling train platform filled with students carrying floating luggage and enchanted pet carriers.)
DRAKE: (Waving frantically) Holden! Over here! Man, I thought you were going to miss the train!
HOLDEN: (Grinning, slinging his bag over his shoulder) Miss the Express to Strawgoh Academy? Never, Drake. As team Captain, I have a reputation to uphold.
SAM: (Adjusting spectacles, looking at a pocket watch) Technically, you had three minutes and forty-two seconds to spare. But from a logistical standpoint, your arrival was dangerously close to optimal departure time.
ZACH: (Laughing) Classic Sam. Always analyzing the numbers! Hey, look who found us on the platform.
LIRA: (Walking up confidently with her broomstick strapped to her back) Ready for another season, Lions? I spent all summer practicing my high-speed banking maneuvers. I intend to make the team this year.
HOLDEN: That's the spirit, Lira. We need every bit of fire we can get. Let's board the train. I brought enough enchanted pumpkin treats and spark-sodas to throw an epic start-of-term party in our compartment!
DRAKE: Now that is why Holden is our leader! To the train!
(The group boards the express. Sound effects of cheering, laughter, and magical sparklers crackling fill the air as the train rolls toward the mountains.)
(The magnificent Great Hall of Strawgoh Academy. Floating candles illuminate long dining tables heaped with golden platters of food.)
HEADMASTER SHANNON: (Standing at the podium, her voice warm and commanding) Welcome, students of Strawgoh Academy, old and new! Another year of magic, discovery, and spirited competition begins tonight. Remember, excellence is not merely about winning cups; it is about supporting one another in every classroom and on every field.
SAM: (Leaning across the table, whispering) Headmaster Shannon's introductory lectures are always impeccably structured. Did you know her defense against dark curses course has a ninety-eight percent pass rate?
LIRA: (Chewing a roll) I can't wait for our first class with her tomorrow morning. She promised we would study advanced defensive shields!
ZACH: Shielding is great, but my favorite part of the evening is right now. Pass the roast potatoes, Drake!
DRAKE: (Piles potatoes onto Zach's plate) Here you go, Big Zach! You'll need that energy. Hiddique tryouts start tomorrow afternoon, right Captain?
HOLDEN: (Nodding proudly) That's right. We've won six final championships in a row, and sixteen straight House Cups. But past glory doesn't win future matches. We start fresh tomorrow.
(The grassy Hiddique field. Wind whistles past as broomsticks hover in the air.)
HOLDEN: (Blowing a silver whistle) Alright, listen up! Hiddique is about speed, precision, and trust. Chasers score with the red orb, Beaters defend with the iron deflectors, and as Seeker, my job is to catch the Volt Wing. Lira, let's see your dive!
LIRA: (Kicking off the ground, sweeping into a steep dive and pulling up sharply) How's that for speed?
ZACH: (Swinging his Beater paddle, knocking an iron deflector orb away smoothly) Outstanding recovery, Lira! You've got real grit in the air!
SAM: (Sitting on the bench with a notebook, shouting up) According to my trajectory calculations, Lira's dive speed reached forty-two miles per hour with zero loss of altitude control! She is an ideal addition to our line-up!
HOLDEN: (Hovering near the clouds) Pitch-perfect execution! Lira, you've earned a starting spot as Chaser beside Drake. Lions on three! One, two, three...
ALL: LIONS!
(Months later. The arena roars with cheering spectators. Thunder rolls softly in the distance.)
HEADMASTER SHANNON: (Amplified magic voice) Welcome to the Hiddique Final Championship! The score is tied at one hundred and twenty points. The match rests on a razor's edge!
DRAKE: (Flying fast, tossing the scoring orb) Catch, Lira! Take the shot!
LIRA: (Catching the orb in mid-air and throwing it through the top hoop) Goal for the Lions! Ten more points!
ZACH: (Blocking a heavy iron deflector sent toward Lira) Not on my watch! Hold the line, team!
SAM: (Watching from the stands, shouting through a megaphone) Holden! Look above the north tower! Atmospheric currents indicate a sudden electric surge—it's the Volt Wing!
HOLDEN: (Eyes narrowing as a tiny, brilliant blue light zips across the sky) I see it! Going into a deep dive!
DRAKE: Go, Holden! Get the Volt Wing!
HOLDEN: (Wind rushing past his ears, reaching out a gloved hand as the shimmering blue Volt Wing zips in unpredictable patterns) Just a little closer... got it!
(The crowd explodes into thunderous applause and cheers.)
HEADMASTER SHANNON: (Smiling warmly) Holden has caught the Volt Wing! The Lions win the match, securing their seventh consecutive Hiddique Final Championship and their seventeenth straight House Cup!
LIRA: (Flying up beside Holden, cheering) We did it! We really did it!
ZACH: (High-fiving Drake in the air) Best season ever!
SAM: (Joining them on the field with a giant smile) Statistically speaking, this is the greatest athletic streak in Strawgoh history!
HOLDEN: (Holding the glowing blue Volt Wing high in the air) It wasn't just individual skill—it was teamwork, trust, and heart. Here's to the Lions of Strawgoh Academy!
