Toby the Brave

Toby was a young squire. He lived in a big castle. Toby helped the knights. He cleaned their armor. He took care of their horses. Toby wanted to be a knight too. But he was small.

One day, the castle was in danger. A bad king wanted to take over. The king's soldiers came to the castle. They wanted to get in. This was called a siege.

The knights fought bravely. They used swords and shields. They shot arrows from the walls. But there were too many soldiers.

Toby saw a small door. It led to a secret path. He had an idea.

Toby ran to the head knight. "I know a secret way," he said. "I can go get help!"

The head knight looked at Toby. He was very small. But he saw how brave Toby was.

"Go," the knight said. "Be quick and be careful!"

Toby ran through the secret path. It was dark and long. He was scared but kept running. He ran and ran until he found the king's friends.

Toby told them about the siege. The king's friends came to help. They fought the bad king's soldiers. They saved the castle!

Toby was not a knight yet. But he was very brave. He saved the castle. Everyone was proud of him. He showed that even small people can be brave.
