Every classroom should have a job wheel that turns each week. When students take turns doing different jobs, the whole classroom runs better. A rotating job chart makes our room fair, helpful, and fun.

First, taking turns is the fairest way to share classroom work. Some jobs, like being the line leader or feeding the class fish, are very popular. Other jobs, like wiping tables or picking up scraps off the floor, are less popular. If the same person always gets the fun job, other kids feel left out. A wheel moves every Monday so that every person gets a chance to try every task.

Second, switching jobs helps us learn how to help our community. When you are the paper passer, you learn how to count sheets for your table. When you are the door holder, you learn to wait politely for everyone to walk through. Doing different tasks teaches everyone how much work it takes to keep our room clean and organized.

popular:
Liked by many people.
community:
