A simple black and white line art drawing of a school bus on a road, designed for children to color.
The Big Yellow Bus

Ben stands on the sidewalk in front of his house. He holds the straps of his blue backpack very tight.

He listens for a loud sound. Then he sees the big yellow bus come around the corner.

The bus has large black tires. It has a very shiny yellow hood.

The bus stops right at the corner. The brakes make a loud squeaky noise.

The door swings open with a soft click. Ben sees his favorite driver, Mr. Sam.

"Good morning, Ben!" Mr. Sam says with a big smile. Ben smiles back and climbs up the high steps.

The bus smells like clean seats and fresh air. Ben looks down the long aisle for his friend, Lily.

Lily is sitting in the middle of the bus. She waves her hand to show Ben an empty spot.

Ben sits down next to his friend. The bus seat is soft and brown.

The bus starts to move again. It goes bump, bump, bump over the gray road.

Ben looks out the big, clear window. He sees green trees and many tall houses go by.

They pass a red dog playing in the grass. The bus keeps rolling all the way to the school.

Soon, the bus turns into the school parking lot. The school building looks big and very friendly today.

The bus comes to a full stop. Mr. Sam pulls a handle to open the door.

"Have a great day at school!" Mr. Sam tells the kids. The children walk down the steps in a straight line.

Ben is ready to learn and play with his friends. The big yellow bus will be back to take him home later.
