Big Trucks at Work
Big trucks work very hard every day. They help people build schools, homes, and roads.
These trucks are very strong and loud. They can move heavy rocks and piles of dirt.
The dump truck is a very busy helper. It has a big, open bed in the back.
The truck carries sand or stones to the work site. Then, the bed tips up to drop the load.
An excavator is a truck that loves to dig. It has a long arm and a big bucket.
The bucket scoops up dirt from the ground. The excavator can turn in a full circle to move the dirt.
A bulldozer is a truck that pushes things. It has a huge, flat blade on the front.
The blade clears away trees and messy dirt. It makes the ground flat and ready for building.
The crane is the tallest truck of all. It has a very long arm and a strong hook.
The crane lifts heavy beams high into the sky. It helps workers reach places that are very high up.
A cement mixer has a big drum that spins. The drum keeps the wet cement moving so it does not get hard.
When the drum stops spinning, the cement comes out like a slide. It makes the floors for new buildings.
Construction workers drive these big machines. They wear hard hats to keep their heads safe.
They also wear bright yellow or orange vests. This helps everyone see them on the busy work site.
