Benny Bunny's Big Surprise

Benny Bunny loved his Mama very much. Her birthday was coming soon! Benny wanted to find the best gift for her. He hopped out into the sunny meadow. The grass was soft under his paws.

"What would Mama like?" he wondered. He saw bright red berries on a bush. "Maybe Mama would like a basket of these!" he thought. He started to pick them, one by one. They looked so shiny and sweet.

But then Benny saw a field of colorful flowers. They were pink, yellow, and blue. "Oh!" he gasped. "Mama loves flowers! A big bunch of these would be perfect." He left the berries and began to carefully pick the prettiest blossoms.

As he picked, he saw a smooth, round, shiny stone near the stream. It sparkled in the sunlight. "Wow!" Benny whispered. "Mama would love this shiny stone. It looks like a little treasure!" He dropped his flowers and picked up the stone.

Benny sat down by the stream. He looked at the stone in his paw. Then he thought about the berries and the flowers. He felt a little confused. He wanted to give Mama something special, but what was the most special?

He thought about all the things Mama did for him. She read him stories. She gave him warm hugs. She made his favorite carrot stew. Suddenly, Benny knew. The best gift was something different.

Benny hopped all the way home. He didn't have berries or flowers or a shiny stone. When Mama opened the door, Benny gave her the biggest, warmest hug he could. "Happy Birthday, Mama!" he squeaked.

Mama smiled. She hugged him back tightly. "Oh, Benny," she said. "This is the best gift ever! Your hugs are my favorite treasure." Benny felt happy. He learned that the best gifts come from the heart, not from a bush or a field or a stream. Mama loved his love the most.
