Better Bags for Better Board Games

Dear Classmates,
I love indoor recess in Room 2B. We have fun games on our back shelf, like checkers, dominoes, and card decks. However, we have a big problem when it is time to play. Many of our game boxes have torn corners, and the tiny pieces fall out all over the floor.
Yesterday, Mia and I wanted to play a match of checkers. We opened the box, but half of the red circles were missing. We spent ten whole minutes crawling under tables to find them. By the time we found enough checkers, the recess bell rang. It made us feel sad because our play time was gone.
I think we should use clear, zipper plastic bags for our small pieces. We can use a black marker to write the name of each game on the front of each bag. For example, one bag will say "Checkers" and hold all the red and black chips. Then, we can slide the sealed bag right inside the game box.
- checkers:
- A board game played with round red and black pieces.
- problem:
- Something hard that needs to be fixed or solved.
- zipper:
- A fastener that slides open and shut to hold things inside.
- sealed:
- Closed tightly so nothing can spill or fall out.
- sort:
- To group items that belong together.
