Galileo was a very smart man. He lived a long, long time ago. He liked to look at the stars. He used a tool called a telescope. The telescope made things far away look closer.

Galileo looked at the sky. He looked at the moon. He looked at the stars. Then, he looked at the sun! Looking at the sun can hurt your eyes. But Galileo found a way to look safely with his telescope.
What He Saw
Galileo saw spots on the sun. These spots moved. This helped him learn that the sun spins. The sun is very big. It gives Earth light and heat. Galileo's work helped us know more about the sun.
