Jane's Hike in Hocking Hills
Jane put on her small blue boots. Today she was visiting Hocking Hills State Park. She walked on a soft dirt trail with her mom. High above them were giant sandstone cliffs. The brown rocks looked like big walls that reached the sky. Jane looked up and smiled at the tall trees on top of the rocks.
As they walked, Jane heard the cool sound of dripping water. They found a small cave in the cliff. The air felt nice and cool inside the shadows. Tiny green ferns grew out of cracks in the stone. Jane stopped to look at a small bird sitting on a rock. The bird sang a happy song and flew away.
Jane and her mom kept walking along the path. They crossed a small wooden bridge over a clear stream. Water splashed softly on the smooth stones below. Jane loved looking at the big cliffs and tall trees. It was a wonderful day for a hike in the woods.
