Note: This is a fictional classroom interview.

Student: Hello, Ms. Green! What kind of art do you make?

Ms. Green: Hello! I make art with paper shapes.

I use colorful paper to make big pictures.

Student: What tools do you use for your art?

Ms. Green: I use shiny scissors and a glue stick.

I also use thick paper of many bright colors.

Student: How do you make a picture?

Ms. Green: First, I cut out shapes. I cut red circles, blue squares, and yellow triangles.

Next, I move the shapes around on a big white page. I try different spots until it looks nice.

Student: Do you glue the pieces right away?

Ms. Green: No, I do not glue them yet! I wait.

I like to see where each piece fits best first.

Then, I lift each paper shape. I put a little glue on the back and press down.

Student: What shapes do you like to use the most?

Ms. Green: I love circles and long strips.

Circles make great flowers and wheels. Strips make tall trees.

Student: What is your favorite part of this work?

Ms. Green: I love to see simple shapes turn into a new picture.

A square and a triangle can become a house!

Anyone can make paper art. It is fun to try.
