Free Interview and Q&A Reading Passages

Interview and Q&A reading passages help students practice comprehension through a question-and-answer format. PicoBuddy offers interview-style informational passages that can make reading feel more conversational while still building important nonfiction skills.

Every PicoBuddy passage includes comprehension questions, an online quiz, a free PDF download and an editable Word download. You can print the interview, assign the quiz online or edit the Word version for your lesson. These passages are useful for classroom reading, homeschool practice, tutoring, homework and independent work.

Interview passages help students understand how information can be shared through questions and responses. They can practice identifying the main idea, finding details, comparing answers, understanding point of view, learning vocabulary and summarizing what a speaker explains.

Topics might include interviews with scientists, athletes, artists, explorers, community helpers, historical figures or fictional experts on real topics. The format can make informational reading feel more personal and easier to follow.

For more nonfiction formats, browse our informational reading passages. If you want students to answer questions digitally, explore online reading practice.

You can also create a custom interview or Q&A passage about a specific person, profession, topic, unit or classroom theme.
