Meet Mr. Sam the Custodian

Note: This is a pretend interview for classroom practice.
Question: Hello, Mr. Sam! What is your job at our school?
Mr. Sam: I am the school custodian. I help take care of our building every day.
I sweep the halls. I also help keep our classrooms safe and neat.
Question: Why is it important to keep our rooms tidy?
Mr. Sam: We share our school with many friends. When floors are clear, no one trips.
It is easy to learn when our room is neat.
Question: How can students help keep shared rooms clean?
Mr. Sam: You can pick up your crayons and books. Put your trash in the wastebasket.
When you pack up your things, our whole room looks great.
Question: What should a student do if juice or milk spills?
Mr. Sam: Tell a teacher or an adult right away! Spills make the floor very slick.
Do not try to clean it all by yourself. An adult will bring the right mop or paper towels to make the floor safe again.
Question: What is the best part of your job?
Mr. Sam: I love seeing happy students in a bright, clean school. We make a wonderful team!
